Artist Statement  


               As an artist, I soon discovered my passion of working with natural media such as
               metal and wood. I believe that working with wood and metal allows me to experiment
               in the process of integrating or fusing these two fine materials together. Very often,
               the wood inspires me as to what shape the metal component should be formed. 
               I also strive to create symmetry with the fused wood and metal, focusing on any
               subtleties of the wood such as color, grain, shape.            
                                                   
                                           
                Working with basic hand tools allows me to create a design as I progress, the design
               evolves as I shape the wood and metal. I discover the subtle nuances and patterns in
               the wood piece and begin to imagine how the piece of jewelry will come to life.
               Hand tools allow me to shape the wood and metal to complement each other.
               My pieces of jewelry are unique from one another since the woods I select vary
               in grain patterns, therefore each piece can be considered one of a kind. I now enjoy
